  1. I think the 1st time my parents ever gave me "The Talk" was after i told them i'd slept with a couple of people, they just said to me 'BE SAFE' that was about it!”

  2. I never had the 'sex talk' from my parents OR my school; I got it all off my friends, who were far more savvy then I was.

In fact, the closest I came to the sex talk with my parents was when I was 16, and I was in a play called Junk (based on the book of the same name); my character had to give another character a condom, and seeing as I didn't know where the Family Planning Centre was at the time I went to Boots and bought a three-pack of Fetherlites. I told my mum, lest she find them accidentally and think I was boinking half the town (fat chance of that), who was relieved that I'd told her to say the least.

A few months later, while watching Corrie, mum asked me whether I still had those condoms. I said yes, to which she replied, "Good, I'd rather you weren't using them yet."
    "What?"
"Well, I don't want you having sex just yet, if that's alright with you."
"It would be difficult, mum, seeing as I don't have a boyfriend."
    "Right. Just checking."
A moment or two of silence, then my dad chips in with "They've got a 'use-by' date, you know."
    Cringe.”

I certainly don’t remember us having the archetypal birds and the bees talk. Erm... I don’t think anything was really mentioned.”
