Sex facts

  • The length of pregnancy is calculated from the first day of the woman’s last period and lasts 40 weeks on average.
  • Pregnancy is divided into three stages, called Trimesters. The first trimester is 1-12 weeks, the second is 13-26 weeks and the third is 27-40 weeks.
  • If you are having a normal pregnancy, sex is considered safe during all stages, but you should always seek advice from your own GP.
